— Compositor's note —
Nicola Tuveri is a Doctoral Researcher at Tampere University (Finland). His research interests span information security, applied cryptography, and efficient cryptosystem implementations, with a focus on software and microarchitecture side-channel analysis and on the integration of modern cryptosystems---lately mainly post-quantum---into mainstream libraries such as OpenSSL.
His research has directly impacted widely adopted open-source software, including the OpenSSL library. Among other contributed improvements, he collaborated in the discovery of the first remote timing attack on OpenSSL ECC (eprint:iacr:2011:232, CVE-2011-1945).
He made his first contribution to OpenSSL in 2010, later had the honor of becoming an OpenSSL Committer, and has served on the OpenSSL Technical Committee since 2019. He has previously represented the Academics community on the OpenSSL Foundation's Business and Technical Advisory Committees and on the OpenSSL Corporation's Technical Advisory Committee. He was recently elected as one of the Academics representatives on the newly unified Foundation Advisory Committee. He also serves on the OpenSSL Security Response Team, which evaluates disclosures and manages their outcomes.
